Chef Maria Roman is from Toa Baja in Puerto Rico. Her passion for cooking began at a young age, as at the age of 8 she started helping her mother in the kitchen. Her family has always prioritized giving good flavor to all their meals. In 1994, she started her catering business and went on an exchange to study Spanish Gastronomy in Valencia, Spain.
In 2009 she completed her culinary studies at Le Cordon Bleu in Florida. More recently she gives seminars at different institutions in Puerto Rico, works on giving back to her community helping the elderly learn to cook, and has taught at Huertas College.
